# Speech and Debate for All > Make competitive speech and debate accessible to every motivated student by removing administrative obstacles and creating a straightforward path to tournament participation. **Speech and Debate for All** is designed for middle school students who want to compete in speech and debate tournaments but do not have access to a school team or debate club. The program removes administrative barriers and provides students with a simple pathway to participate in competitive speech and debate events throughout the year. Pen2Podium serves as the sponsoring institution on Tabroom, allowing students to register and compete under the Pen2Podium organization without needing to create a school-based team or work through school administration. This enables students and families to focus on competition rather than paperwork and logistics. ## Who It Is For - Students whose schools do not offer speech and debate - Homeschooled students interested in competition - Students seeking an independent pathway to participate in tournaments - Families looking for a simple way to access the speech and debate community ## What Pen2Podium Does: - Pen2Podium is a registered institution with Tabroom, and you can compete under the Pen2Podium Institution. This would mean you can avoid having to set up coaching accounts, talking to administration, and creating organizations, and can start competing instead. - Pen2Podium approves the student signup so that it reaches the tournament. - Additionally Pen2Podium will provide two recorded sessions for free (which otherwise has paid access) . - Session 1 will be explaining how the tabroom website works in detail so that you are able to sign up, see results, read feedback, and search up tournaments with no problems throughout the year. - And the second session will be a deeper explanation of all the main events to compete in and the skills required for each event. - Beyond that Pen2Podium will also be sending out monthly emails letting you know all of the upcoming tournaments that you are going to be able to sign up for. Within this package Pen2Podium will also help with any tabroom related questions you might have throughout the year. # Things you will have to do: - Pay the Pen2Podium membership fees of $150 for a School year (Aug - May) - Sign up for tournaments at your end. - Paying the tournament entry fees through Pen2podium (varies per tournament) - Travelling to the tournament with your student as the adult chaperone - Judging at the tournaments your child attends when needed by the tournament.
